One month ago, an Italian priest Andrea Santoro, was killed in Turkey. The news
sparked an outcry and Turkish authorities after a few days arrested a young
muslim responsible for it.
The case is closed but many questions remain without answer.
For a start no Turkish media is covering the issue, it seems that they want
people to forget quickly about that.
I add to this some in the media accused the assassinated priest of proselytism:
he paid people with dollars to attend his church. The other catholic priests
reacted to this news with shock: not only is false but they think it sound like
a smear campaign.
However there are some mysteries. A priest's aide claims the assassin had a
bigger size and a different voice. In other words the guy arrested may not be
the real assassin.
What is sure in Turkey anyone want to close this case and bury it forever. It's maybe because Turkey should join the EU? This may explain why this case didn't have coverage in the British press.
I sent this because I want anyone to talk about it as much as possible. The
point is that this is not an isolated case, Turkey may be more anti western that
the media want us to believe so I urge to pass this e-mail to anyone you know.
I found this news on an Italian blog and they translated it from Asia news.
