Shame of the 'NOTW'

So once again we are being subjected to images of our troops 'behaving badly.'  What could possibly be the purpose of this being aired at this time?  It happened two years ago.  Could it be a desire to take some heat off the militant Islamofascists that took over our capital city?  Some desire to say 'Look, Brits are just as bad?'  Because, without a doubt there will be plenty of Islam supporters who will justify their position by pointing their treacherous finger at Our Boys in Iraq.

First of all let's consider the actions of the youths.  Imagine living in a time of uneasy truce, never knowing when and if insurgents are going strike.  Foreign troops walk up and down your street trying to keep the peace but you know they are edgy.  And you know they are armed.  Is this a scene in a typical household?  'Hey Mum I'm just going outside with some of my mates to throw stones at the soldiers!'  'Okay Dear. Don't be late for evening prayers.'  That those soldiers merely gave the thugs a hiding shows considerable restraint in my opinion.  I'd have shot them.

Now consider the toad with the camera.  Firstly he records his 'mates' administering justice, albeit justice which the politically correct and utterly wimpish British authorities don't like to dish out any more.  He eggs them on.  Has he already got visions of pound signs from the News of the World flashing in front of his eyes?  Oh I wouldn't be surprised, would you?  He didn't decide to keep the one minute sequence for posterity, so he could show his folks back home what a good laugh it was, and then suddenly have an epiphany.  After all, if his conscience suddenly started to bother him shouldn't he have told his commanding officer?  No, this particular odious and poisonous toad had different things on his mind.

Next we have the spectacularly vile News of the World.  Did they publish the Mohammed cartoons?  No.  That might be considered offensive and we musn't do anything to iffend our nice tolerant Mussie friends.  Would they put our soldiers lives at risk by showing a few of them retaliating against thugs?  Oh yes.  They don't give a fourX about our soldiers; about us Brits.  As long as they can give the Muslims something to gloat over they have done their ass-licking for the week.

And finally we have our own spokespersons, from the government and the MOD.  They were at pains to point out that of 'all the soldiers in Iraq over all the time they have been there the incidence of 'bad behaviour' from them was very low.'  Very low!  They should have backed our troops to the hilt.  They should have asked 'what would you have done if obnoxious little thugs had been throwing missiles at you?'  If they wanted the little beasts counselled they should have sent social workers not troops.

Perhaps they expected the soldiers to all mince about; to ask the youths nicely to 'please desist or we'll have to run away'.  Well, as yet they haven't signed up quite enough foreigners and homosexuals, but they'll get there eventually.

No, our authorities will not back us up, not against anyone.  It is far more demoralising to allow such images into the public domain, to condemn the soldiers out of hand, and demoralising us Brits seems to be the name of the game.  I wonder what the authorities would do if I were to throw stones and other missiles at members of our illustrious cabinet?  Do you think I might end up shot?
