England’s  Plea.

I stood on Dover Cliffs

Surveying the wind blown sea

And saw Drake and Raleigh

Sailing toward the lee.

Homeward bound from adventures

Beyond the oceans wide

Coming home to England

To defend their nations pride

In times of distress and danger

With an enemy at her door

Let the bells ring throughout England

With the clarion cry “Once more!”

The English folk will awaken

Deep within their hearts and souls

The brave deeds of their ancestors

Who answered so history unfolds

Our annals are there before us

Rich in deeds for all to see

Do not forsake out of ignorance

And so neglect England’s plea

It is your time young English

Let no one deny you your right

Demand the truth of our history

And so come into the light.
