Mr Prescott's office replied thus to a charge of racial discrimination against the English

Mr. Prescott has asked me to write to you regarding your claims of discrimination. After making enquiries I believe you are a citizen of the United Kingdom and have a native ethnicity.

I shall attempt to answer your comments. 

Firstly, I assume you are referring to the Census form that has no facility for stating English nationality. This is because there is no such nationality as English as laid down by various acts of Parliament and accession. Persons born in the United Kingdom are citizens of the United Kingdom and are therefore British/English.

Secondly, you state that your children are unable to practice their religion at school. 

Since 1989, all non-denominational schools in the United Kingdom have had the right to Christian assembly removed. This was because it was felt to be insensitive to the needs of ethnic minorities being forced to practice a creed different to their own. There is however, no reason you cannot attend church services of your own denomination in your own time.

Lastly you are complaining that you cannot celebrate your patron saint's day without punitive financial penalties being imposed. Again, there is no reason preventing you from celebrating in your own time as long as your celebrations are kept within legal restraints and do not interfere with the sensitivities of any ethnic minority.

Thank you for your email.

Neither the Labour Party nor the Labour Government are pursuing the policy towards England or the English that you claim.

England, as opposed to Britain, has an unfortunate history around the world and within the British Isles and please do not say that it is all past.

It is a fact that the right and extreme right in Britain cloak themselves in the English flag, the cross of St.George and claim to be the true representatives of the English.

Wherever there is hooligan behaviour, usually linked to extreme right-wing political groups e.g. at football matches here and abroad, it is the flag of St.George that is displayed and that, I would imagine, is the reason why the MP referred to this type of 'Englishness' as a threat to democracy.

Dear Mr Blair,

                          It is with incredulity and utter disbelief, that have read two letters, (att),

purporting to have come from two of your cretins. One on behalf of Prescott, and the other from the Communications Unit.

   Are these two people serious, or is this some kind of sick joke? If it is serious, and another attempt to deny the English people their heritage and race, it will fail miserably, along with the other crackpot ideas of Prescott. If it is a sick joke, I can assure you that it will rebound on you.

   We, the English people, are not Europeans, and never will be, regardless of any actions taken by your misguided government, or individuals. England itself, is being discriminated against, in preference to immigrants and the like.

   Lt's face facts, England is our Country, and by definition, we are Englishmen and Women. It is our culture, our heritage, our society,our own language, and our own unique lifestyle, (endanger it, at your peril). We did not ask these thousands of immigrants to come here, they ASKED to come. By acceptance, they agreed to obey our laws, our traditions, and way of life.

   If they do not wish to accept them, then the way open for them, is home, or elsewhere on this planet, and NOW, not after appeal after appeal ad infinitum! We speak English, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Lebanese, Russian, Japanese or any other language. They must be told to learn our language, and USE it in schools, pubs and clubs etc,. Christianity is our national faith, whether we use it or not, is immaterial, and should not be submerged under the teachings of a vile Islamic ideology.

   However, I digress, but I think my points, which is the view of thousands of indigenous English people. No "such people as the English indeed", it beggars belief!. Reign in these morons of yours, and for Gods sake educate them, (and that includes fat guts Prescott).

  To protect the English way of life, STOP all immigation NOW, send them all back forthwith, regardless of what they face there, because they face a greater threat here, much more than you imagine! LISTEN TO THE GROUNDSWELL OF OPINIONS.

Dear Mr Godsiff,  

I attach copies of two letters received by friends of mine - one from John Prescott's office and another from the Communications Department of New Labour.

It appears there is a concerted effort underway to remove the term `England' - and `Englishness' from our language and I wish to register my protest - not least at the appalling ignorance expressed by the respondents.

May I assure you that there are many millions of people in this country for whom the term `England' is regarded with the greatest respect. 

I am a natural supporter of the European Community, but I see nothing antithetical in also loving my own country as only an ex-serviceman, who served both Queen and Country in many parts of the world can do.  

And everywhere I have served the term `English' was treated with a respect that the politically correct terrorists can only dream of. 

I look to you to represent my views, as you have undertaken to do, to the leadership of your party. 

And this issue will not go away simply by someone in government putting verbal ointment on the open wound.
