The time to pull out of
this mess is upon us. What is plain and obvious for all to see, despite the
propaganda spouting from John Reid and Tony Blair’s mouths, is that the
occupation of Iraq is achieving nothing. There will never be a lasting peace in
that country, while the Sunni, Shia and Kurdish factions continue to fight
amongst themselves. British Servicemen are on the front line, trying to work in
a climate where equipment shortages are the norm, and the political will is
faltering.
The New Labour regime, born in the age of flower power and love for all mankind
is not fit to send our men and women to war. They are not fit to ensure the
British Army has the necessary political backing to do their jobs. In short, the
six deaths of the MPs who were ambushed, and a hundred more like them, could all
have been avoided, if Tony Blair, had not decided to use Iraq as his “First
Blooding”, and tried to do a Thatcher a la Falklands.
The blood has flowed. How much more has to flow before our troops are brought
home?
