Leniency for 'ignorant' woman who hurt baby - Newspaper Edition - Times Online

This ruling is either illegal or sets a new precedent in British Law.

For hundreds of years, the concept of 'Ignorance is no Defence' has been law, but this ruling effectively overturns this; thus, besides such child abuse, it also allows:

Mutilation of young girls (female circumcision as practised in many Asian and African countries),

Child prostitution (Age of consent is 13 in Japan, where prostitution is legal, AoC is also as low as 13 in other countries (Spain, Mexico)),

Sexual Abuse of younger children (Mohammad's wife was 8 when made a woman, the African belief that sex with/rape of a virgin cures HIV),

Domestic violence/spousal murder (Under Sharia law for example)

Amputation of thieves' limbs (as under Sharia law)

Murder of Prostitutes (as under Talmudic and Sharia law)

Armed Revolt (as practised in many countries and supported by the USA/USSR/etc.)

etc., etc.

Also, this was a child 'In her care'.  She may not even have been related... was she one of these 'Skilled Immigrants' we hear so much positive publicity about?

13% of foreign convicts cannot be deported as they hold EU nationality

26-04-2006

133 of the 1023 convicts released without being considered for deportation could not be deported because they are nationals of other EU member states, UKIP Leader Roger Knapman MEP said today (26.4.06).

Mr Knapman said that the Government had granted full residence and employment rights to nationals of other EU member states, and that deportation would be illegal under EU rules which prevent discrimination on the grounds of nationality.

“It is frankly disingenuous of the Home Secretary to suggest that he can deport all foreign criminals at the end of their sentences, when in fact 13% of them are ineligible for deportation by virtue of their EU citizenship.

“The duty of the Home Secretary is to protect the British people from potentially dangerous criminals. It is now clear that because of the powers signed away by the Government, Mr Clarke is incapable of doing this.

“Not only are we unable to control our own borders because we are saddled with common European policies on immigration and asylum, we are also unable to deport criminals from other EU states, even those convicted of the most serious crimes.

“Given the rates of re-offending amongst released prisoners, how will Mr Clarke explain their presence in the UK to the victims of any subsequent crimes they commit? Is this one of the benefits of EU membership?”.
