Over the past decade or so we have seen street crime escalate, the idea of punishment for crime replaced with a failed rehabilitation, and a prison inspectorate which insists convicts must be treated with `respect'.
Sadly our record on `rehabilitation' is abysmal with more than 80% of criminals reoffending within twelve months, and of the remainder most reoffending within two years.

Whatever the liberal apologists might like to pretend there is no doubt that there has been a huge increase in crime and much of the increase can be laid squarely at the feet of immigrants. For a start, almost all the gangs, running prostitution, people smuggling, drugs, weapons, protection and pornography, are immigrants. There are the Jamaican "Yardies," with a casual indifference in their gun battles to the safety of bystanders; the Turkish gangs, who dominate heroin trafficking in London; increasingly numerous Asian gangs, and new gangs of Central- and Eastern-European origin.

How could 62,040,606 Americans get it so wrong? So wailed a tee-shirt slogan last November. The reference, of course, was to the votes garnered by US President George Bush, which gave him a second term. If something does not happen to change attitudes — and very quickly at that — I expect to see another tee-shirt on my next trip to London bearing the slogan: How could 1.6 million Muslims get it so wrong?

Once we would have sought out terrorists like Al Zarqawi and disposed of them. This ex drug runner is the worst active terrorist around right now. An evil animal who must be stopped. They need to draw him out, let it be known that westerners consider him a 'coward' who hasn't the guts to come out and fight, show him dressed in women's garb, allude to his diminished manhood, make him angry, he will make a mistake. Bingo. But where is James Bond when you need him most?

It is regrettable that Mr. de Menezes was shot and killed when he failed to stop at the command of police, who were understandably anxious to avoid another bombing on the tube trains. It is not acceptable to reprimand the police for this unfortunate incident, unless they knew he was innocent before they shot him. We have gone way past the stage where we should be asking questions first and shooting later. Better Mr. de Menezes than 50 train passengers. Who would be willing to wait and see? Not me. To even moot that the policeman who shot him should face murder charges puts our nation's security at considerable risk. The terrorists must be laughing like drains. If this charge is brought, or even lesser charges, then the CPS can join our growing list of British traitors.

Murders soar in wake of Katrina refugees Though this article is referring to America there is no doubt in my mind that immigration is directly linked to rising crime. The National Statistics Office, for obvious reasons, will not produce statistics showing the ethnicity of criminals. But graphs showing rising crime in this country and graphs showing rising immigration are comparable. By refusing to admit the obvious the government is doing this country (yet another) great disservice.
