Key findings of Ch 4 survey on Muslim opinions

Here are the key findings of survey of Muslim opinion for Channel 4:

27% believe that Muslims should not work for a company without a prayer room.

49% to not believe that there are any Immans that preach hate in the UK

44% would prefer to send their children to a Muslim school, than a local state school that gets better exam results

21% believe that all Muslim women should wear the Hijab

7% believe that ALL WOMEN should wear the Hijab

18% would withdraw their daughters from school, if they weren't allowed to wear the Hijab.

67% believe that Islam doesn't discriminate against women

55% agree that wives should ALWAYS obey their husbands

30% would like Britain to adopt Shariah Law

47% disagree that Muslims unhappy with the British way of life should go to live in a Muslim country.

4.5% Believe it is important to keep separate from non-Muslims

34% do not feel that the Union Flag represents them

16% no not think they 'belong to Britain'

94% believe they 'belong to Islam'

68% believe that those that insult Islam should be prosecuted in court

9% believe it is acceptable to use violence for political ends

12% understand why some British Muslims want to carry out suicide operations in the UK

21% do not think that Immans that speak in support of terrorism should be removed from the country.

80% think that the people that published the cartoons of Mohammed should be punished.

36% do not think that the UK protests against the cartoons went too far.

63% do not think the British people should be free to say whatever they want, if it offends religious groups.

2.5% do not believe the Holocaust happened (16% think it was exaggerated)

45% believe that 911 was an Israeli/US conspiracy!

24% think that the 7/7 bombings were justifiable.

37% think Diana was killed to stop her marrying a Muslim.

27% respect Abu Hamza

22% respect Saddam

29% think that British society does not respect women

45% think that gay teachers should not be allowed

42% consider Britain a 'country of bad moral behaviour'

9% do not think that Muslim men and women should choose their own partners

35% would prefer Muslim neighbours

76% think that unmarried children should ALWAYS obey their parents.

33% think bigamy is OK in the UK

29% dream of the UK becoming an Islamic state

31% of those married were not allowed to choose their own spouse

16% of those unmarried will not be allowed to choose a spouse.
