One person who speaks, (Out) makes more noise than ten thousand who remain silent!
Napoleon Bonaparte
Foreign born MP for Birmingham says being English is bad for you. WHAT?
Winds
of the World, give answer! They are
whimpering to and fro --
And
what should they know of England who only England know? --
The
poor little street-bred people that vapour and fume and brag,
They are lifting their heads in the stillness to yelp at The English Flag!
In a poll conducted by the newspaper over 70% of those who voted chose to be English rather than British.

And here's what they should know of England...
letters sent:
The concerns by Ms G Stuart over whether someone is English or British, is the fault of those who legislate that England is no longer a country and have every nationality under the sun on official forms, EXCEPT ENGLISH!
On
the sports field, (Six Nations Rugby) Scotland, Wales and Ireland sing
their own Anthems, we English sing the NATIONAL anthem. Just a couple of
small things for Ms. Stuart to mull over: I have a lot more but it would
take up the whole paper.
Ms
Stuart says she is German by birth but British by choice. Well
that's ok then isn't it Ms. Stuart, it must be nice to HAVE THE CHOICE!
I am English first, British second and European third, and WILL continue
to cross out 'British' and replace it with English on any forms.
By stating what you did Ms. Gisellle you did more for the 'English' cause than you did against it. I thank you for that at least.

Dear Mrs Stuart
It may be that you feel no loyalty to your country of birth. I do not share your fecklessness however and I am fiercely proud to be English. What is more, since you are not English I fail to see why you feel authorised to speak for us.
Patriotically yours

I am English and proud of it. I am also British and a European.
Yes, it would be nice to have an English Parliament dealing with solely English matters, but what would be even better would be if we had MP's who realised that Englishness, and indeed patriotism, were cohesive and positive factors in our society, rather than something to be denigrated and warned against at every opportunity.

You
have asked '"Is Being English Bad For
You''?
I am English, I speak English and I am so proud of that fact. I live in the greatest country in the world called England.
England devised and introduced democracy and free speech! She sent millions of her sons and daughters to fight and die in wars, and still does, to defend that great cause known as FREEDOM, full stop!
It
is the DEMISE of these freedoms that is now creating the rise in
Englishness and the need for the English voice to raise its concerns and
to be listened to in its own country. The fact is that NO ONE is
listening to us within Government, we bang our suppressed heads against
the walls of Parliament, day in and day out. We cannot even be allowed to
write our nationality of '' English'' on official forms. We are
discriminated against when we are even denied the right to celebrate St
George's Day, our national day, with pub licence extensions being denied
to publicans such as Tony Bennett of the Otter, in Norwich. We are told it
is NOT A SPECIAL DAY! We feel isolated in our own country.
The Scots have their own Parliament, we too must have this independence,
an English Parliament and this is why English Nationalism is on the rise.
If that is seen as a threat, then maybe its time that the English were
heard because we are angry, we are depressed but we are strong and we will
persevere until justice prevails because that is the English way and law
and justice was also invented by the English Ms Stuart!
I am very grateful for my English ancestors, my family, my community, the
Christian foundations that taught tolerance, morals, love for thy
neighbour. Yes, are you shocked Ms Stuart? We English have a culture
too!
None
of us would be here today if not for our ancestors courage and their
amazing achievements to all mankind in medicine, industry, science,
etc. etc. Englishmen and women all of them, through and through.
Make no mistake, the English spirit is still alive today, it lives on in
the true English, the indigenous people of this land, those who love their
country, its very heart beat and its very soul. We will endeavour to
keep that spirit alive, no matter what comes before us because our
children have A RIGHT TO KNOW they too are English and what that means,
where they have come from. Just as all others from various ethnic
identities are encouraged to know and understand their backgrounds.
Those
who come to live here must be encouraged
to show respect to English customs and our way of life as we are EXPECTED
to show to theirs. This includes the Government who to all intents and
purposes, appear to be the ring leaders in doing their level best to
destroy this Island Race! Without this respect working both ways, how can
we have a fair England?
The English have paved the way for civilisation for over a thousand years.
If being English is '' bad for you,'' tell me why so many people from
around the world want to live here and benefit from England's fruits?
Fruits such as the NHS, welfare benefits, Legal Aid, social housing,
housing benefits, free child care, oh yes, and FREEDOM! Freedom to do
virtually what they like, whilst the English people cannot!
Gisela Stuart should consider having some loyalty towards England and stop
showing
discrimination towards an ethnic race, the English people and England,
where she obviously calls her home. The English have every right to call
themselves English not British, we are a people with our own identity and
flag and we are very proud of those facts.
I
find it extremely offensive to me, that I am denied my English
nationality, it is my right!

Dear Ms Stuart,
You were born German and have the gross impertinence to state that I am not English but British. I spent six years of my life defending my right to be English against Germans trying to make me a vassal of Germany, so I am not prepared to have you pontificate about my right to be English in England which is a country of which I am very proud. If you do not like it, suggest you return to the country of your birth.
Yours sincerely,
