Whatever the liberal apologists might like to pretend there is no doubt that there has been a huge increase in crime and much of the increase can be laid squarely at the feet of immigrants. For a start, almost all the gangs, running prostitution, people smuggling, drugs, weapons, protection and pornography, are immigrants. There are the Jamaican "Yardies," with a casual indifference in their gun battles to the safety of bystanders; the Turkish gangs, who dominate heroin trafficking in London; increasingly numerous Asian gangs, and new gangs of Central- and Eastern-European origin. The Albanians have more or less taken control of prostitution in Soho. The National Criminal Intelligence Service estimates that there are now around 400 gangs operating in and around London. Murder, rape and violent crime have increased out of all proportion. Every day the newspapers are full of stories about crimes committed by immigrants.
Obviously the indigenous commit crimes too but the ratio of crimes committed by immigrants is out of all proportion to their numbers here. Why do we want to import so many criminals here, particularly when we learn that our police are absolutely hopeless at controlling crime or catching criminals; and that our prisons are so full we only have room for council tax ‘refusees’, whilst leaving violent criminals to roam the streets looking for their next victim? Does it not seem odd that we never return them from whence they came, no matter whether they are here illegally, no matter what crimes they commit?
Now, even more worrying, is the excuse being used in mitigation: it is my culture! Recently, Ferdos Ali used that as her reason for trying to pervert the course of justice. She had done her best, over a period of time, to persuade the victim, and all those concerned, to drop a case of rape against a member of their community. She received an 8 month sentence, suspended for a year. icNewcastle - Muslim rape victim put under pressure
Not long ago Bradford minicab driver Zubair Khan murdered his wife and injured his brother-in-law. Having stabbed her 20 times, whilst his children were in the same house, he then bundled his children into the car, drove them to a relative and then went back to murder the brother-in-law. He fled to France and was not arrested until he returned to this country, believing himself to be safe. He refused to answer questions in police interview but jurors heard he now admits he shot his brother-in-law. He also accepts he killed his wife, but claims he was provoked. His plea in mitigation? Provocation. For no better reason than her family ‘had too much influence over her’.
'In October 2002, 16-year-old Heshu Yones was stabbed 11 times by her 48-year-old father, Abdulla, who then slit her throat. The girl bled to her death. A Kurd, her father had disapproved of Heshu's 18-year old Lebanese Christian boyfriend. Heshu lived in Acton West with her Iraqi Kurdish family. Her father received anonymous telephone calls and letters branding Heshu a slut. Unable to bear the insult on the `family honour', he killed his daughter. Last week, a London court sentenced Abdulla to a life term in jail, recommending he served 13 years minimum. Observed Judge Denison, more in sorrow than anger, when pronouncing judgement, "The killing and the manner of it was an appalling act. This is, in my view, a tragic story arising out of irreconcilable cultural differences between the traditional Kurdish values and the values of the modern western society. It is plain that you strongly and genuinely disapproved of the lifestyle in this country of your daughter". Judge Neil Denison said that he would take cultural customs into consideration in the sentencing.
Heshu's murder was the sixth one of its kind during that year. In some of the similar cases, Nuziat Khan, another young woman was found strangled at her home after she applied for a divorce from her husband citing cruelty. The husband, after the crime, fled England and was hiding in native Pakistan.
In 1999, when 19-year old Shakella Naz was discovered to be pregnant by her lover, and refused to have an abortion, she was strangled to death by her brother while her own mother held her down. All in the name of family honour! Though in most cases the killers had been caught and convicted, it was clear they did not feel any remorse. Worse, their gruesome acts were by and large met with approval from the families and the communities they belonged to.
Tasleem Begum, 20, was killed by her brother-in-law, Shabir Hussain. He ran her over in his car, reversed over her body and sped forward once more, crushing her three times. The killer claimed that the balance of his mind had been altered by the great shame she had brought to the family. The plea was accepted and the judge sentenced him to three years imprisonment for manslaughter, not murder.
These honour killings are not the monopoly of the Muslim community. Hindu families settled in different parts of UK, particularly belonging to the Sikh community from Punjab, do not hesitate to take drastic steps against young girls of their clan who choose to adopt the western way of life, including having a boy friend or daring to marry young men outside their community.
So, not only do we have to put up with more crime, of every description, we are being forced to accept that the worse crimes – that of killing one’s own family, one’s own defenceless daughter or wife - is somehow more acceptable by certain members of the population.
